- an ability to give leadership to the Catholic life of the school in an increasingly interconnected and complex world
- expertise in school leadership and an ability to inspire a spirit of collaboration with staff, students and parents
- an ability to lead learning, curriculum development and practices to ensure achievement and enhanced learning outcomes for all students.

Applicants need to submit a separate electronic application for each principalship as each application is individually assessed.
Feedback is given to those applicants who are unsuccessful for an initial or second interview from the Principal School Advisor or the Catholic Education Western Australia officer who chaired the interview panel. This will be given after the announcement to the school community and within one month of the appointment being made public.
Opened in 2010, Holy Cross College has an enrolment of 1100 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12. The LIFE (Learning, Inter-relationships, Faith and Enrichment) curriculum gives students a strong foundation, and learning is underpinned by strong relationships that are supported by a Kindergarten to Year Twelve House system, pastoral care structures and well-being services.
