St Denis School
St Denis School, Joondanna, was opened in 1951 by the Servite Friars and the Sisters of Mercy. The school maintains a close relationship with the Parish, and especially all Sacramental programs.
The professional staff of the school, in collaboration with an involved and connected parent community, support student learning in all aspects of the Australian Curriculum, with Religious Education as the foremost learning area. The Making Jesus Real way of life is firmly embedded within the school community.
Students are engaged in well-equipped contemporary learning classrooms including a 1:1 Digital Device program implemented in years four to six, with junior primary classes being well-resourced in Information Technology. An emphasis on differentiation in all classes is complimented by extension and support programs. There is a strong early intervention program featuring the St Denis wrap around health services, and specialist teachers in Physical Education, Music, Italian and Health expand on the core curriculum.
Sustainability of God’s earth is an important part of the school culture with flourishing vegetable gardens, chickens and worm farms. Nature based playgrounds have been installed with outstanding support from the school P&F.
St Denis School has an excellent before and after school care facility.
