St Mary’s School
St Mary’s School is situated in the picturesque, rural farming community of Northampton and is located 50 kilometres north of the regional centre of Geraldton, one hour from the beautiful tourist resort town of Kalbarri and 20 minutes from the peaceful seaside village of Horrocks.
St Mary’s School is a co-educational school catering for 49 students from Kindergarten to Year Six. The classrooms are structured as four composite year levels and are grouped depending on the number of students enrolled. The school community and the parish community are both interested in, and supportive of, all school activities.
St Mary’s School strives to assist all students to achieve a personal best in all areas of their development; spiritually, academically, socially, physically and emotionally. The staff of St Mary’s School believe that learning needs to be visible for the students, staff and parents, employing the research and practices of John Hattie and Lyn Sharratt.
Specialist areas include Science, Music, Physical Education, Design Technology and Languages. Information Communication Technology is embedded into all learning areas with a wide range of resources available to staff and students, including data projectors, laptops, Chromebooks and iPads. Digital Technologies has been a strong focus in recent years as we actively participate in the ACRA Digital Technologies in Focus Project, fostering staff competency and confidence.
St Mary’s School has a vibrant and committed staff, an active and supportive parent body and strong links with the parish and the local town community. Our Christian Service Learning initiatives, Brookview Bookworms, Meals on Wheels and local tree planting, foster positive relationships between the school and the community. Based on the School Motto, ‘For God and Country’, the school community is focused on providing a holistic education for all students.
