Our School
Here at CtK we are focussed on maintaining a contemporary approach to learning and pride ourselves on the fact that every individual is known by name and need.
Our school has Specialist Teachers in the Arts, Library, IT and Physical Education run programs for all classes as well as a Special Education Unit for Children with Special Needs. We also run a number of intervention programs and an extension program. From Pre Primary, children are also taught a second language through a specialist teacher.
Outside the classroom there is sport, music, choir, dance, coding, lego, and lots of play! Each child in our care is challenged and supported according to their interests and needs.
Our Wellness Dog, Patch is on hand to try and reduce and alleviate the amount of stress, anxiety and other social and emotional concerns, and develop a sense of belonging within our children.
Christ the King, surrounded by trees and family homes, values the important role parents play in the education of their child. We encourage parents to contribute to the life of the school both formally through the Advisory Council and informally through our Parents and Friends Association. Our closeknit community are appreciated for contributing their time and expertise to assist in classrooms, at sporting events and school excursions.
As an accredited Waste Wise school, we collect organic waste from recess/lunches and this goes to our worm farms, chickens and compost bins. Each class has a garden bed that is close to the classroom where students have the chance to watch herbs, vegetables and flowers grow throughout the year, with the help of worm leachate.
We are supported by Christ the King Parish, which offers many groups for faith, reflection and Christian action. Students receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation in Year 3, Eucharist in Year 4 and Confirmation in Year 6.
Our embracing community warmly receives, supports and befriends new families. We look forward to welcoming you to our school!
