Vision for Learning

“I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” John 10:10

Catholic Education Western Australia’s Vision for Learning supports 21st century learning for all.

Through our extensive research, we have developed a coherent approach to improving student learning outcomes, identifying a model for teacher practices and creating dedicated learning teams through Professional Learning Community structures and The 5 Teacher Practices for Excellent Teaching & Learning.

Vision for Learning

The five teacher practices identified here are not mutually exclusive and all contribute to the
development of the whole person in Christ-centred and child-focused Catholic schools.

The Vision for Learning provides theoretical background and is brought to life through the LEAD matrix, applying Learning, Engagement, Accountability and Discipleship equally to students, teachers, schools and the whole Catholic Education Community.

It is designed to ensure that along with strong academic skills, students are able to collaborate, innovate, create, appreciate and think critically with a Catholic world view, developing the whole person through Christ-centred, child-focused learning.

The Vision for Learning is offered as a pedagogical resource for all Catholic Education Western Australia schools and care services.
