St John’s School

School Description

St John’s is a Catholic, single stream primary school founded on our faith beliefs and values. We are a close knit community and work together to support and nurture our families. We endeavour to develop the whole child, encouraging children to find their own talents and we provide a varied and vibrant educational program for our children. We have been extending these opportunities to students for over 65 years.

Over this time, St John’s has seen many changes, but one thing remains constant and that is the school’s excellent reputation and commitment to educating Catholic children in the Scarborough area and surrounding suburbs. It is important that our students feel happy, challenged and valued. The school’s well planned teaching and learning program ensures that these goals are met.

For the past six years St John’s has incorporated a 3 Year Old Program into our Early Childhood Centre and this has proven to be a very successful experience for the school community. Our staff aim to be innovative and proactive in developing a quality Early Learning Centre. Our recently recreated grounds have added another dimension to the ECE area for our early years children.

Combined with an excellent overall educational program, our students are encouraged to become independent learners and this is enhanced by provision of rich and varied learning experiences. Our top quality Art, Sport, Music and Library teacher specialists add to this richness of learning.
