Welcome to St Joseph’s School Waroona, a Catholic school founded by The Order of Sisters of St Joseph of the Sacred Heart, which has been serving the families of Waroona since 1943. St Joseph’s School Waroona is comprised of professional and collegial teachers, supported by a wonderful administrative staff, who are committed to continually improving their teaching practice and using their expertise to create balanced and challenging learning programs tailored to the needs of each student. A wide variety of in-school and extra curricula programs enhance student learning. We encourage all members of our school community to strive for personal excellence and to realise their full potential. At St Joseph’s School Waroona we create an atmosphere where thinking and learning are valued and modelled. Our underlying philosophy is founded on the example of Jesus’ teaching. We encourage all community members to maintain and respect human dignity, through the recognition of the face of Jesus within every person. We pride ourselves on the family and community atmosphere that permeates throughout our school. We acknowledge the vitally important role of parents. We recognise and value parents and carers as the first educators of their children and the staff understand the great trust parents place in them to build upon the education of their children. We have a proactive and supportive Parents and Friends Association (P&F) and School Board. I encourage all parents to be active members of our P&F and consider nomination to the School Board. Both groups are invaluable to our school community, seeking to provide resources and opportunities our school would not otherwise be able to access.
