Bishops of Western Australia

CEWA > About Us > Governance > Bishops of Western Australia

Representing the Archdiocese of Perth and the Dioceses of Broome, Bunbury and Geraldton.

The Bishops of Western Australia mandate the Catholic Education Commission of Western Australia (CECWA) to foster the continuous development and improvement of Catholic schools in Western Australia, and to act on behalf of the Catholic community for the benefit of all Catholic school-aged children, be they in Catholic schools or not.

The CECWA is responsible to the Bishops of Western Australia to fulfil the Terms of Reference within the Bishops’ Mandate. This Mandate reaffirms the importance of WA Catholic schools in the Church’s mission, and reflects developments in Catholic education locally and in official Church teaching.

For more information see the Bishops Mandate for the Catholic Education Commission of Western Australia 2009-2015.
