Mother Teresa Catholic College is a co-educational school inspired by Mother Teresa’s example of outreach and love for all human beings. Students are challenged to connect and contribute as they strive each day to grow, in the words of the motto, “Strong in Faith and Love.”

Our School

Opened in February 2014, Mother Teresa Catholic College has become a vibrant and flourishing learning community in a rapidly growing outer-metropolitan suburb in the south of Perth. The multi-award-winning design of the college has delivered spacious, rammed earth and glass facilities with flexible learning spaces and contemporary furniture which impact intentionally on the learning and teaching which takes place here. The curved buildings surround a lush green oval bordered by fast-growing English plane trees. Behind this circle are three separate nature-playgrounds which cater for children of different age-groups.

Our completed Junior school is unique in its stunning aesthetics, high visibility throughout and strong connectivity ‘in the round’ – all of which together foster a positive and calming atmosphere, in a secure environment, for all in the college community – students, staff and parents.

The facilities and environs of our college enable our students to enjoy a broad spectrum of learning experiences. Significant periods of Inquiry Learning pedagogy enables students to problem solve, develop creative and critical thinking, collaborate, communicate and negotiate, and develop intellectual curiosity – either inside their classrooms or outside in the grounds. Our college facilities and environs encourage our learners, both students and staff, to be independent self-starters who are responsible, flexible about learning and teaching and well able to adapt to change.

Mother Teresa Catholic College’s facilities and environs are increasing our students’ capacity, even from their early years of schooling, to ultimately contribute with confidence, courage and creativity towards making the world a better place for all peoples.

Our first secondary students will commence Year 7 in 2018, in a variety of contemporary, purpose-built rammed-earth learning spaces where they will engage in multi-disciplinary, Challenge-Based Learning which will reflect the learning intentions of the Western Australian Curriculum. A comprehensive elective program including Design and Technology, Art, Music, Drama and Dance, Food Technology and Media will be delivered in the brand-new facilities.

Mother Teresa Catholic College is an inclusive learning community. Our families originate from over 30 nations. We welcome difference. We live by the example of our patron Saint, Mother Teresa – knowing that by embracing difference and reaching out to others in love and service we can ourselves grow in our understanding of what we all share as human beings – the need to be accepted and respected for the persons we are – different yet the same, citizens of our one world. Mother Teresa’s legacy to us is the compelling example of a life lived in the service and love of others. Inspired by our patron’s charism, Mother Teresa Catholic College is truly a place where all in our community are challenged to connect with learning about ourselves, one another and the wider world in order to contribute with confidence, courage and creativity to making our world a better place for all.

Embracing technology, collaborative practices and digital media in creative learning spaces, our learning community of students, staff and parents are flourishing in a new school built for the world of today – and tomorrow.
