St Paul’s Primary School, Mount Lawley is a welcoming inner-city, single-stream, co-educational Catholic school serving approximately 235 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Year 6, for families of St Paul’s Parish and surrounding areas. We work in partnership with families to nurture each child’s faith, learning and wellbeing.

Our vision reflects a commitment to Christ-centred education, inspired by the spirit of the Sisters of Our Lady of the Missions and the teachings of St Paul. Grounded in Gospel values, we encourage students to live our motto, “From Darkness to Light”, by seeking truth, growing in knowledge and deepening their relationship with Christ. Through our Making Jesus Real (MJR) approach, students are supported to make faith visible in everyday actions, fostering kindness, compassion, respect and service to others.

At St Paul’s, we provide a holistic education that nurtures the spiritual, intellectual, physical, social and emotional development of every child. We value positive relationships, meaningful learning experiences and the dignity of each individual. Specialist learning opportunities include Physical Education, The Arts, Music, Science, Italian and Edu-Dance. Students are also encouraged to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities, including the Catholic Performing Arts Festival, academic competitions, Choir, camps, Chess, Spelling Bee, and interschool sporting events.

Our strong Early Years program is informed by contemporary research and the principles of the Early Years Learning Framework, fostering children’s sense of identity, wellbeing, confidence and connection to community. Across all year levels, inquiry-based learning encourages students to be curious, reflective and engaged learners who ask questions, think critically and actively construct understanding of the world around them.

A comprehensive Whole School Curriculum Plan guides teaching and learning, with a strong emphasis on differentiation to meet the diverse needs, interests and abilities of all students. Targeted literacy and numeracy support programs provide additional assistance where required, while an Extension Program challenge identified gifted and talented students in Years 3 to 6.

St Paul’s enjoys a strong sense of community, enriched by active parent involvement and close parish connections. Pastoral care is a priority, and students are encouraged to strive for excellence in all aspects of school life. Our values are captured in the acronym EPIC: Excellence, Perseverance, Integrity and Christ-Centredness. Leadership opportunities are provided for all Year 6 students through a range of ministries and service roles.
